Plastic surgery
Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Address excess abdominal skin and weakened or separated muscles for a firmer midsection.
Overview
Understanding the procedure.
Abdominoplasty removes selected excess skin and fat and can tighten separated abdominal muscles, often after pregnancy or major weight loss.
Full, mini, and extended approaches treat different patterns. Liposuction may be added as lipo-abdominoplasty when it supports a smoother contour.
Is it right for you?
Candidacy is personal.
Healthy adults near a stable weight with loose skin, muscle separation, or localized abdominal fullness may be candidates. It is not a weight-loss procedure, and future pregnancy can alter results.
What to expect
A plan shaped around you.
Surgery is performed under anesthesia in an accredited setting. The incision and duration depend on whether a mini, full, or extended approach and liposuction are used.
Recovery
Time and support for healing.
Early walking is encouraged, but tightness and swelling are expected. Desk work may resume in roughly two weeks for some patients; lifting and strenuous activity are limited for several weeks.
